KDDI concept Polaris robot - Rolly is like, but with a purpose

>> Tuesday, October 6, 2009

Being a Japanese carrier and all, this is not shocking to see KDDI with a strong presence at CEATEC. What is surprising, however, was the little camera you see the picture above. Presented as a prototype "early" form, has recently introduced Polaris robot seems strangely similar to Sony Rolly befuddling. Fortunately for KDDI (and all humanity, really), this creature has a purpose. Packed with speakers, a network of wireless sensors and the ability to send video signals on your wireless cable television, the concept of cradle is stylishly designed to take your phone KDDI (lots of 'em be consistent in time) and beam of a blown-up version of the user interface of your phone to your TV or LCD monitor. The good news here is that the system actually displays a much more intuitive on-screen menu that is available on your dumbphone, allowing users to browse the schedules, photos, videos and playlists with ease.
